The Staff Accountant - Financial Reporting will be a key member of the Accounting Team, primarily supporting SEC reporting, external audit processes, and technical accounting matters. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role will assist in the preparation of quarterly 10-Qs and annual 10-Ks, coordinate audit requests, and support monthly close activities. We are looking for an individual who can work independently with strong attention to detail, a background in public company accounting preferred, and a solid understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
Core Responsibilities
As a key contributor to financial reporting and the monthly close process, you will:

Assist in the preparation of quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K filings, including drafting footnote disclosures and gathering supporting documentation.

Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations with accuracy and attention to detail.

Analyze general ledger accounts to identify and record necessary accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications.

Support external audit processes by compiling schedules, providing documentation, and responding to auditor requests in a timely manner.

Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to ensure timely completion of tasks aligned with weekly and period-end close schedules.

Assist with technical accounting research and memoranda for complex transactions or new accounting standards.

Support the implementation and documentation of internal controls and SOX compliance requirements.

Contribute to special projects, ad hoc analyses, and reporting initiatives in collaboration with the management team.

Establish yourself as a reliable resource for teammates and the go-to person for financial reporting questions.
Skills Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

CPA or CPA track strongly preferred.

Understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements; public company experience is a plus.

Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions, with the ability to quickly adapt to new software programs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex accounting information clearly and effectively.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work under tight deadlines.

Thrives in a collaborative team environment, assisting colleagues in troubleshooting issues and overcoming challenges.

Willingness to dedicate the hours required to meet deadlines during close periods and SEC filing deadlines.

Candidates must be available to work onsite in the Los Angeles office at least four days per week.
Experience Desired

2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably with public company accounting or Big 4 public accounting experience.

Minimum 1 year of experience with financial reporting, external audit support, or SEC reporting.

Experience with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems preferred.
